Hunger and food insecurity in covid-19´s pandemic time.

Abstract

This work purpose to present, based on the Josué de Castro contributions, elements to understand that hunger-generating processes in advancement context of covid-19 are earlier but aggravated by the calamity situation. The endemic hunger emerge on populations in extreme poverty condition, which are on an ascending scale in Brazil in recent years, especially from 2014. Endemic states are aggregate by epidemics or pandemics states resulting from the coronavirus impacts. Also are presented strategies against hunger and food insecurity, among them, highlight the collectively elaborated proposals by social movements, unions and entities organized around family farming, agrarian reform, traditional peoples and communities, agroecology and food sovereignty. Among these political actions, agrarian reform, basic income policies, health, repeal of Constitutional Amendment 95, supply and food and nutritional security and the consolidate of productive capacity of family peasant agriculture and traditional communities, must be highlighted in emergencial character. This set of emergencial indications seeks to deal with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic and confront aggravation hunger that is being announced in the face of this crisis. Reaffirms in this way the current condition from Josué de Castro thought and the importance of building integrated projects and policies to combat the hunger. This requires changes in economic and social structures, in special, the still necessary reforms in the country's agrarian structures, as well as policies of supply and food and nutritional security.
