Musical knowledge and practices in Roraima

an overview of academic studies

Abstract

This article aims to present a first analysis on a state of knowledge that gathered monographs, scientific articles and publications in congress annals that, with greater or lesser emphasis, addressed aspects about music in the state of Roraima. In this opportunity, after discussing methodological aspects, we characterize the production from different criteria, as area of knowledge and institution to which the work was linked. Finally, considering the proposal of this dossier, we review the writings regarding the themes, which are: knowledge and practices, territorialities and borders, ethnic-racial and gender relations, identities, training and public policies and patrimonialization. Thus, the article contributes by presenting a systematic study, still in early stages, on the bibliographic production that discusses aspects of the music in Roraima.
