Daniel Nascimento Band and the fair of catechesis

reflections of a musical activity in the public policies of a city

Abstract

This article discusses the role of Daniel Nascimento Band as an agent of social change related to the reconstruction of ethical values for the growth of the municipality of Paragominas (PA). To achieve this objective, a participatory observation was made during the public presentation of the band during the celebrations in the camp of the catechesis of the Uraim Colony, in the rural area of Paragominas. Then, the results of this observation were analyzed from Nattiez’s Tripartite model and the questions about the relationship between music and society made by Mukuna.
