Relações diplomáticas entre Brasil e Alemanha - dezembro de 1937 a julho de 1939

Abstract

The following text introduces the diplomatic relationship between Germany and Brazil. Until 1937 the relation between the two countries was very intensive; however from that year ahead it started to decline, culminating to war declaration on August 1942. The current article innovates and shows to be singular, comparing to the already existing texts, because explores the subject under discussion, based on the German point of view related to Brazil and based on the diplomatic documentation researched at archives in Germany. This article explores the timeline between December 1937 and July 1938, covering the proceedings of the ambassador Karl Ritter and also the period which no German ambassador was acting in Brazil.
