Em um mundo de incertezas e de impactos ambientais alarmantes, não é raro que uma parcela das promessas para um desenvolvimento sustentável se dirija à s crianças e adolescentes desta geração. São eles, afinal, que sentirão mais intensamente as consequências das decisões econômicas, sociais e ambientais que atualmente estão sendo tomadas, ou evitadas. Eles que precisam ser equipados com valores, conhecimento e habilidades necessários para repensar os padrões atuais de degradação (DAVIS, 1998, p.142) e possibilitar um futuro baseado na resiliência.
