Abstract

This work shows a study on the megamaser galaxy of OH (OHMG) IRAS 06487+2208 where the main objective is to adjust the data cube and map which elements make up the gas of this galaxy, with this we can carry out a study of the gas kinematics and classify this system in the galaxy evolution scenario, it is believed that emission from the OH magamaser (OHM) is an important characteristic of [ultra]infrared luminous galaxies ([U]LIRGs), the presence of this emission in the spectrum of galaxies can be a sign of both thermal nuclear activity due to the stars that make up the galaxy, and also the subsistence of a disc of circum-nuclear gas, analogous to the torus hypothesized by the unified model of active galaxies (AGN). For this project we used optical spectroscopic data obtained with GMOS/GEMINI, band I images (F814W) obtained by the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) and radio data with the VLA.
