REVIEW OF THE BOOK “LESBIAN, GAY, AND TRANSGENDER ATHLETES IN LATIN AMERICA”

This production consists of a review of the book “Lesbian, Gay, and Transgender Athletes in Latin America”, published in 2022 by Palgrave Macmillan, part of Springer Nature, located in Switzerland. The book, published only in English, aims to present the crossings that Latin American identities suffer in the context of gender and sexuality issues. The book has 10 chapters and is organized into three parts, emphasizing the identities of Gays, Lesbians and Transgenders, predominantly natives of Latin American countries. The aim of this review is to provide a critical analysis of the book, highlighting some of the contents that make up the three parts, the reflections covered, the potential and suggestions for future works that may deal with this theme.
