The image construction of a tourist destination can be influenced by cinema, which has the ability to create tourist motivations by capturing images. This study seeks to interpret the production of the tourist imaginary of Salvador - BA through the analysis of 21st century films. The exploratory and descriptive research analyzes five films (Cidade Baixa, Ó Paí, Ó, Trampolim do Forte, Guerra de Algodão and Carnaval – 2021) to observe the construction of this image and imaginary of the city. The results indicate that the construction of Salvador's imaginary worked with already known stereotypes, such as the Pelourinho, the carnival and the baianas selling delicacies. Secondary elements, such as beaches and buildings, are also addressed, but to a lesser extent. These elements contribute to the tourist expectations of the spectators and endorse the tourist imaginary of the city.
