Soberanía Alimentaria en América Latina

Agendas, prioridades y desafíos para la sociedad civil.

Resumen

El objetivo de este artículo es reflexionar sobre la construcción de la soberanía alimentaria en América Latina frente a las transformaciones recientes, nuevos actores, agendas, prioridades y desafíos. Para lograr este objetivo, se realizaron tres conversaciones de forma remota entre mayo y octubre de 2022 con algunas redes y organizaciones nacionales de países como Colombia, Ecuador, Brasil y República Dominicana. Se discutieron temas relacionados con la comprensión de la soberanía alimentaria de cada organización, movimiento o colectivo, cuáles son las principales acciones, desafíos, perspectivas y qué otros actores son importantes para la construcción de sus acciones. Los resultados indican que la soberanía alimentaria es ampliamente entendida como el derecho de los pueblos y comunidades a definir sus políticas alimentarias, priorizando métodos sostenibles, el acceso equitativo a los recursos productivos y el respeto a las tradiciones culturales. Las organizaciones participantes resaltaron la importancia de la agroecología, la preservación de semillas nativas y los circuitos cortos de comercialización como estrategias para resistir la presión de los agronegocios y las políticas neoliberales.
