Abstract

In a dialogue with Schleiermacher and Vattimo, both representatives of hermeneutics and the religious and theological study, this article seeks to make some characteristics of both explicit for the contemporary theological doing, making it aware of the historicity of the linguistically constructed structures, that is, the worldviews. Nonetheless, the main intent is to expand the notion of religious life itself, integrated by spirituality (as expressive living of being) and theology (as meaningful existence of thinking), consciously subjectifying it, but explicating its insertion in a tradition, in a community and in a society. After an exposition of the contributions from hermeneutical philosophy, there is an analysis of these two thinkers and how they are positioned in the construction of a reflection on the themes of religion and theology turning the religious life dynamic in the search for new symbolic and liberating significations in the metaphysical distortion and suppuration.
