The book Gelo through “O pé esquerdo” by Sérgio Nazar David
Keywords:
contemporary poetry; Sérgio Nazar David; Paulo Henriques BrittoAbstract
Published in 2023, the book Gelo collects 42 compositions, among which is the poem “O pé esquerdo”, which measures well the authorship of Sérgio Nazar David. The current Reading shall be supported by the essayistic work of Paulo Henriques Britto, outlined in three texts, namely, “O conceito de contraponto métrico em versificação” (2009), “Para uma tipologia do verso livre em português e inglês” (2011) e “O natural e o artificial: algumas reflexões sobre o verso livre” (2014). The hypothesis is to develop a certain reflection on free verse according to the conceptual repertoire accumulated, which should serve as an instrument for the analysis of that poem. So, it is hoped not only to illustrate some understanding of the authorial work, but also, through appreciation, to sketch an acceptable designation of contemporary poetry.
