The multidisciplinarity of the quality of life theme has made it diffi cult to develop researches that aim at the elaboration of spatial syntheses. Thus, the present article aims to demonstrate procedures to select and ponder parameters of quality of life from theoretical foundations. Initially, a review was based upon 24 researches carried out between the years 2000 and 2013 that allowed selecting 12 parameters and 22 indicators for the city of Francisco Beltrão-PR. Afterwards, three methodological steps were carried out: spatial diagnosis of the indicators, standardization of the thematic classes and weighting by multicriteria evaluation. The results demonstrate a consistent spatial synthesis of the quality of life, which allows to conclude that the selection of parameters by theoretical basis off ers an alternative to exempt the subjectivity load of the researchers. Likewise, the weighting by the frequency of use of the parameters by diff erent authors solves the diffi culties in validating a model whose synthesis is normally subjective.
