The current relevance of Antonio Candido’s critical thinking, which links the constitution and the impasses of the literary form to their objective conditions, is caught herein through the reading of “O tempo do contra” (1978), “A nova narrativa” (1979), trough the references to “Radicalismos” (1988) and “Realidade e realismo via Marcel Proust” (1983).
